Excellent work - very thorough and complete. Absolutely impressed with the shop - I'm going to try and get my shop at home as clean and organized.Nino was incredibly helpful and a great guy. Many thanks to him.Not that I haven't been, already, but I'll send people your way whenever possible. Being right next to Fieldwork doesn't hurt anything, either.cheers,Brian

WOW. I could not be happier with my first experience. here. I have a 9-year old Audi A3, that has started to drink a a lot of oil in recent months. I was expecting to get some really bad news, like "this engine is done". They did a ton of diagnostic tests in only an hour of labor: including inspecting breather and boost hoses for oil, and a leak down test and compression tests. The good news is that my compression is great, and it's not "game over" for this car, as I was fearing. Curly took lots of time to explain the many possibilities for the oil consumption and decision tree around the tests and options for fixes. Their communication was terrific. I got several calls and emails throughout the day updating me on diagnostic findings, including high res. pics of spark plugs, which were in really bad shape. In addition to the extensive diagnostics around oil issue, they replaced the spark plugs, PCV valve, did an oil and filter change (I was overdue), installed a gasket around oil filler neck I'd been missing. They also noticed a license plate bulb was out, and replaced the $2 bulb with no charge for labor. My total bill was $470.18, extremely reasonably for amount of parts and work. They have a very spacious, clean and well-organized shop and they clearly have a "high end" following and work on a lot of REALLY nice cars, which is potentially off-putting to those of modest means, like myself. That day my old A3 found itself among a Ferrari, a Maserati, and an Audi R8 being serviced. I had passed by Griffin Motorwerke several times on my way to Fieldwork Brewery, but had assumed I couldn't afford them, and/or they might look down on my old oil-burner. But so glad I went in, because they treated my baby like a Ferrari, and when I left...OMFG...it now seems to drive like one! Running much more smoothly, and when I jumped on 80 at Gilman to return to Emeryville from Griffin and put the pedal down, I could not believe how much the acceleration has improved. It has never run better. These guys are rockstars.

Fast friendly service

Usual competent technical work; help from the proprietor in getting me home-much appreciated. Also appreciated the psychological counseling of the car (or service tweaking) as the vehicle going like a rocket (or my responses are declining with age).

The customer service I have received at Griffin Motorwerke so this far has been superb. The guys over there, especially Curly, or very attentive and talked with me about my car, my current problems with the car and future plans for the car. They are honest and upfront and they the even give me a tour of the whole facility which is outstanding. In my dealings with Griffin Motorwerke left me with a couple impressions to how they operate. 1. They understand that the customers come first and they take care of their customers.2. They treat the customers with respect and they take the time to listen to their wants and concerns and then do everything they can to make the customers happy. This may seem like a simple motion with so many other shops in the area fail at this and just treat you like a number. Not a Griffin. 3. Griffin Motorwerke has excellent communication and follow through. They always kept me informed of what's going on with my car. Great communication and I really appreciated that. I feel the most of the techs at the high-end Audi shops in the Bay Area are pretty good, but the real difference lies in the customer service and Griffin Motorwerke is leaps and bounds above their competition and I would not trust my car with another shop.

Terry and Curly have done repairs and tuning upgrades to my car for 10 years now. Thank you guys.

great personalized service, they do not make you feel taking advantage of, a new breed of mechanics!

My GTI is 29 years old. Terry has kept it up and running for the last 11 years. He knows that little car inside out. I think it will easily make it to 300,000 miles and then some. Thanks Terry.

Nino arranged for my Audi to get the scheduled service, and the car was ready on time and under the cost estimate. I have an idea of what to look for next time. The car and I will be back.
