I started going to Griffin in 2002 when I got my VW GTI, it had a few little upgrades/modifications and they always took great care of it. What I like the most is that they are REALLY passionate about what they do, which is reflected in their work. I have found them to be fair and honest, and they have always stood behind their work. For example - a part they put on wound up being defective after a couple of months and they had to re-do the job - it was many hours of labor I did NOT have to pay for twice. Yes, there is swearing and explicit banter. It's an auto-shop, not a day-care! If you don't sweat that part you can actually learn a lot about your car. I sold the GTI recently, and for now I have to go to the Mercedes dealer for my service-which I find completely BORING. I'm looking forward to the day when I can bring a car to these guys again, hopefully an R8.... Sigh.

They are really very good. I bought a used RS6 last summer and it had a Kmacs upper suspension bushing set installed which I was unaware of when I took the car to Carlsen Audi in palo alto for a DRC recall. Well Audi had my car all week and totally screwed it up. The first time I got my car back there were sensors that were not connected so my dash lit up like it was christmas only a mile from the shop.. odd.. took it back. Then I got it back and the steering wheel was turned to about 11am position while driving straight. they said that they could not align the car any further unless I replaced the upper control arms ($1200 in parts) after charging me $400 for an "alignment"... lame. So I called Terry @ griffin and he immediately knew my car and the previous owner. That made me feel much better right there. They fixed the alignment issue that Audi could not figure out. It was pretty badly misaligned by audi so it took the guys and Griffin a little longer to correct the issue. I did take it back again a few days later to get one more slight adjustment which Terry took care of as soon as he heard it was still just slightly off. Too bad they are so far away. i will go back but it is almost two hours dealing with getting the car there and then back to work in Los Gatos which makes it harder than other places, but still worth it.

I'm the owner of a 2008 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500. I was tired of unknowledgable service people at a particular Ford dealer, whose name I won't mention other than to say that it's located in Serramonte. I was in the market for some Recaro seats and went to Griffin Motorwerke where I talked to owner Terry Griffin. He was not only very knowledgeable about the product and about motorsports in general, he also hated Formula One Major Domo, Bernie Ecclestone, just like I did! What's not to like? I ordered the seats and when they came in, Griffin Motorwerke installed them flawlessly and at a VERY good price. I decided to give them a chance to do some installations of various new pieces on the Shelby. Terry ordered them and got me good prices on the pieces, and installed them to perfection. I did have one little problem, that being a rattle on the new left side muffler. I brought the car in on a Monday at 11:00 and waited while the rattle was investigated. Turns out that the Ford mount for the muffler was causing the muffler to rattle against the bodywork. The man who worked on my car actually fabricated a new mount and installed it for me in an hour. There was no charge, of course. Those recent modifications cost me just under $6000. I know for a fact that not only would they have cost me at least 25% more at any one of several garages I got quotes from, but when the work was done it was done perfectly, the above mentioned rattle being the fault of the Ford part and not of Griffin's installation. Griffin, as I said before, made it right immediately and at no charge. I'm a car guy. More accurately, a car NUT. I've been there, done that. I have never been so satisfied with the work, and so confident in the value I've received for work on my car than I have been with Griffin Motorwerke and its merry crew. It's worth a drive over the bridge from my home in San Francisco to have my car massaged at Griffin Motorwerke.

Griffin Motorwerke is first class. Between Terry Griffin (the owner) and his trusty partner Curly, there is nothing, literally nothing that they don't know about Audi. They've serviced my 2004 S4 for two years, and time after time they were able to get things done that my local Audi dealership was unable or did not understand how to do. My car has aftermarket Bilstein suspension, a Milltek exhaust, and other mods and they knew how everything fit together perfectly for diagnosing any issues. I only wish they'd open a satellite shop on the peninsula they're that good! Their rates are fair, and Terry and Curly are a crack up to work with, not to mention that they are honest and straightforward people. I would highly recommend them.

I just took in my tiptronic B5 S4 for a bunch of transmission work. Originally my warranty was going to pay for it all so we spec'd OEM parts but then the warranty company found a technicality and left me out in the cold. Terry & Curly worked with me to find the best solution for my chipped car and worked out a deal with LevelTen in New Jersey so that they can build up bullet proof transmissions here in California (rather than freight the entire tranny across the country and back.) Griffin tooled up the shop to rebuild/service the tiptronic and in short order I had a bullet proof transmission with LevelTen guts along with a LevelTen torque converter and valvebody. The performance parts ended up on par price-wise with the OEM equivalents. The new trans feels refined and sane around town but really slams when you give it some juice on the highway. The shifts are cleaner than before and I'm now spec'd for all of the future mods I plan to make. I am once again extremely happy with my experience at Griffin and impressed with their commitment to customer service.

Terry and Humberto rock! These guys turned my Clark Kent of an S4 into the Superman demon from hell - all in a single day. They chipped it, and added a cold air intake and completely new exhaust - on time and on budget and the car runs, looks and sounds amazing. Puts a smile on my face every time. Very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Do it today, you won't be disappointed.

What a great shop. I just had my MAS ($200 part) replaced along with a transmission drain and refill and linkage adjust for about $400.00 Two different VW dealers quoted me over $500 just to fix the linkage and another independent dealer told me that my transmission was sealed and couldn't be refilled. These guys are proactive, when they spot a problem, they let you know. No scare tactics, real honest service and prices. I have 2004 Jetta TDI running on biodiesel.

I've been coming here for more years than I can remember. Cars I've brought over have been Subarus, VWs and Audi. Service has been excellent for routine maintenance and for stuff done to make your car faster. All work has been done right and if there are adjustments needed they have been happy to accomodate. Terry the owner is also a funny guy. While not P.C. I enjoy his banter about politics, George Bush etc. It's nice to visit a shop where the employees are all enthusiasts, not 9-5 employees.

Excellent auto service. I have had work done on two A4s over the last couple years and every time the service is professional and timely. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and carry the best stuff. I have always been able to get my car in within a day or two of calling, even when they are very busy. I highly recommend Griffin for service and aftermarket work.
